NOTICE OF RACE

The Lake City Yacht Club proudly announces the Notice of Race for the 2024 Pepin Open Regatta. The Pepin Open is scheduled for July 6 & 7, 2024. 

The LCYC is excited to welcome all LCYC / PYC/ St Croix Sailing Club Member Boats as well as other racing sailors from the region to the 2024 Pepin Open Regatta. 

The regatta will be four races total.  This format will allow all member/guest boats to join in the weekend’s fun. What a way to enjoy the windblown waters of Lake Pepin and the scenic Hiawatha Valley with its majestic Mississippi River bluffs! A weekend of racing and camaraderie in this beautiful setting is a great way to celebrate the July 4^th holiday!

The regatta cost shall be $158. 

Racing shall be governed by US Sailing’s Racing Rules of Sailing 2021-2024, except where altered by the 2024 LCYC Sailing instructions.  Additional information, including the 2024 Race Registration  and the LCYC Sailing Instructions can be found at www.lakecityyachtclub.com under the Racing tab.

The racing will be managed by the Lake City Yacht Club’s Principal Race Officer.  A skipper’s meeting will be held at the Lake City Yacht Club at 9:00 am on Saturday and Sunday, July 6th and 7th.   Racing will start will be at approximately 11:30am each day.  The races shall be longer distance using a best fit windward/leeward course layouts. As always, actual courses will be based on prevailing and predicted conditions. There will be a single start, one fleet format. 

After racing concludes on Saturday, there will be a LCYC sponsored dinner featuring Fiesta Jalisco, beverages, raffle, outdoor seating and music. Come enjoy the million dollar from the LCYC deck!   Dinner will be $25.00 per person, RSVP / pay on the website.  The live music will follow dinner and raffle.

Celebrate July 4th weekend at the Pepin Open Regatta!  Come race, have a great meal, participate in the raffle fun  supporting local business, listen to some fine music and to enjoy camaraderie of your fellow sailors / boaters!
